Lúthien
- Beren is forced to leave Dorthonion by Sauron and his minions after about four years of living there alone as an outlaw, and comes to the land of Doriath. In the summer, he sees the Elf Lúthien dancing in the Forest of Neldoreth and falls in love with her.
- Húrin of the House of Hador and Morwen of the House of Bëor marry and their son, Túrin, is born later that year.
