Woody End as seen in Peter Jackson's The Fellowship of the Ring
Woody End was a forest in the Eastfarthing of the Shire.
It was located in the farthest southeastern tip of Green-Hill Country, and was about eight miles in diameter.[1]
History[]
Woody End was where, after leaving Hobbiton, Frodo, Sam, and Pippin meet a group of Elves led by Gildor; and it was said that one could often meet Elves there.[2]
Later, during the Scouring of the Shire, much smoke spewed out of Woody End due the Ruffians' burning of some of its trees.
