Wilyador is an Eagle ally created by Fantasy Flight Games for The Lord of the Rings: The Card Game. He is encountered in A Journey to Rhosgobel adventure pack and is a playable ally in The Land of Sorrow adventure pack.

Biography[]

Wilyador is a Great Eagle of the Misty Mountains encountered after a conflict with a band of Goblins that resulted in his wounding with a poison arrow. The players must get him to Rhosgobel while also collecting enough Athelas to heal Wilyador from his wounds.

Wilyador's size and feathers keep him mostly safe from the weather and attacks from enemies, except from deadly archers with poisoned weapons. His sharp beak and talons make him very deadly towards those who anger Wilyador or hurt his friends.

Card usage[]

In the card game, Wilyador is largely associated with attacking, but also defending. His willpower of 1 is weak for him to be used for questing regularly. His attack value of 3 is strong enough for him to be used as an attacker regularly, however, some enemies will take a few turns to die if Wilyador is attacking alone. Wilyador's defense of 2 is good enough to use of him as a defender; however, his health of 3 does not last very long against some enemies.
