West of the Mountains, East of the Sea: The Map of Tolkien's Beleriand and the Lands to the North presents a map of Beleriand with commentary and a gazetteer about the story of J.R.R. Tolkien's First Age, as recounted in The Silmarillion. The map is rendered by John Howe, and the text is by Brian Sibley.
Published in 2010 by HarperCollins in limited availability, it superseded Sibley and Howe's earlier work The Map of Tolkien's Beleriand and the Lands to the North (1999). Related is their all-encompassing publication The Maps of Tolkien's Middle-earth (2003), which covers Beleriand, Middle-earth proper, Wilderland, and Númenor.
