Vrath was an Orc commander of the Second Age who served under Magrot's command at the trenches until Magrot died taking over second in command and chief of Adars forces and taking part in Adar's campaign in the Southlands.

Biography[]

Vrath is one of the orcs of Adar. He is second in command after Margot’s demise. He participates in the raids on the villages of the Southlands in search of the Broken Sword, which saw many villages of Men destroyed and their inhabitants forced into hard labor for the Orcs.[1]

When Theo returns to seek food in Tirharad, he comes across Vrath who was hidden in the tavern. The orc wounds Theo in the leg and calls him blood-young. Theo "activates" the sword-hilt he stole from Waldreg with his blood and injures Vrath in return, then flees and hides in the well. The orcs are eager to find the sword-hilt, but cannot find Theo's hiding place. At nightfall, Theo comes out of the well and tries to reach Ostirith. Vrath grabs him and is about to kill him, but Arondir kills the orc first.[2]

Behind the scenes[]

Vrath was created for The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power, and is therefore non-canonical. He is portrayed by Jed Brophy.
