Underharrow was a hamlet of Rohan, beside the Snowbourn river in the valley of Harrowdale.
In March of TA 3019, King Théoden and the mustered forces of Rohan passed quietly through Underharrow from Dunharrow in the south, and then through Upbourn, on their long ride to Gondor where battle awaited them.[1]
Etymology[]
Harrow is an English term for a farming implement used to level or stir plowed soil. Dunharrow was named for this, and Underharrow was "under" Dunharrow by elevation, though north of it.
In adaptations[]
In The Lord of the Rings Online, Underharrow is the seat of Dúnhere, Lord of the Harrowdale. In his absence at the Fords of Isen, it is ruled by his wife Ellen Fremedon, whom the players assist in granting refugees from Edoras safe passage to Dunharrow.
