Tolkien Studies: An Annual Scholarly Review (ISSN 1547-3155) is a yearly periodical of studies on J.R.R. Tolkien's academia and mythology, published by West Virginia University Press.
It was begun in 2004 by Tolkien scholars Verlyn Flieger, Michael D. C. Drout, and Douglas Anderson. Its board of editors has included others such as Tom Shippey, Richard C. West, John Wm. Houghton, Marjorie Burns, and Carl F. Hostetter.
With nineteen volumes so far, Tolkien Studies features essays by a variety of Medievalists, linguists, and authors.
