The Tolkien Estate or Tolkien Estate Limited is the legal body managing the copyrights of J.R.R. Tolkien's works. It mainly holds the copyright over the literary texts. Until August of 2017, its executors included Christopher Tolkien, his wife Baillie Tolkien, and Christopher's nephew, Michael Tolkien. Cathleen Blackburn of Manches & Co. has been the estate's solicitor for many years. Several family members were made directors of the estate in 2024.

The film and merchandise rights for The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit were sold by J.R.R. Tolkien in 1969 and are currently owned by Middle-earth Enterprises, a company that for a long time was run by Saul Zaentz as The Saul Zaentz Company.
