Tolkien, Enchantment, and Loss: Steps on the Developmental Journey is a book by psychoanalist John Rosegrant, a member of the Mythopoeic Society, studying recovery from mental and emotional hardship. Published by The Kent State University Press in December 2021, it argues that Tolkien's fantasy writing inclinations were strongly sourced in his experiences in World War I.
