The Words of Húrin and Morgoth is the name of the third chapter of J.R.R. Tolkien's The Children of Húrin.

  • 3 - The Words of Húrin and Morgoth - This chapter tells of how Húrin, following his capture by the orcs of Morgoth, was brought to Morgoth himself at Angband. Húrin refused to divulge the location of Gondolin to Morgoth, even under torture, and so Morgoth took Húrin to Haudh-en-Nirnaeth, and still unable to break the man's will, cursed Húrin and his family. Morgoth then set Húrin in a chair upon the heights of Thangorodrim, and forced him to see with Morgoth's own vision, that Húrin might despair to see the ruin brought on his kin.
