This article is about the map-book. For the earlier 1994 version, see The Map of Tolkien's Middle-earth. Additionally for titles starting with "The Road Goes Ever On", see The Road Goes Ever On (disambiguation). |
The Road Goes Ever on and on: The Map of Tolkien's Middle-earth, by writer Brian Sibley and illustrator John Howe, presents an enhanced map of J.R.R. Tolkien's Middle-earth, the setting of The Lord of the Rings, with commentary on Tolkien's development of the story and the maps accompanying it.
It was published in 2009, a year preceding the release of Howe and Sibley's similar work, West of the Mountains, East of the Sea: The Map of Tolkien's Beleriand and the Lands to the North.
- "The book is accompanied by a full-colour illustrated map, which can be removed for reference or even for framing. The map is a real labour of love, illustrated by world-renowned Tolkien artist John Howe, the conceptual artist employed by Peter Jackson to work on his multi-award winning Lord of he Rings film trilogy. Each element in this collector's package is special; together they provide an enchanting and desirable artifact that will be a prized possession of Tolkien readers of all ages."
