The Oasis was the name of an ancient Númenórean outpost on the plain of Lithlad.

It is non-canonical as it does not appear in the works of J.R.R. Tolkien, and is only in the game Middle-earth: Shadow of War.

History[]

The outpost was built in the Second Age by the Númenóreans in a canyon beside an oasis, giving rise to its name. When the Númenóreans abandoned Mordor, the outpost was left behind and eventually settled by Easterling mercenaries, who formed a company known as the Vanishing Sons.

Following Sauron's return to Mordor in the Third Age, Baranor came to the Oasis seeking assistance of the Vanishing Sons, whom he found to be led by his long-lost brother Serka. The company would help him in his quest to take the fortress of Shindrâm from the Uruks.
