Revision as of 06:10, 6 July 2020
The Forsaken Inn was an abandoned inn, presumably constructed by Men during the Third Age in the region of Eriador.
History
The inn was mentioned only once in J.R.R Tolkien's published works; in The Lord of the Rings, Aragorn II Elessar is in discussion with the Ringbearer Frodo Baggins about the road from Bree to Rivendell, and says, "none have measured the road between Rivendell and the Forsaken Inn, a day's ride east of Bree."
This road, the Great East Road, was used years earlier by Bilbo Baggins, yet the Forsaken Inn is not specifically mentioned in Bilbo's memoirs.[1] However it is stated that the group was about to leave 'hobbit-lands' with 'an inn or two' that came to an end on the edges of the Lone-lands.[2]
Appearance in adaptations
Of all adaptations of Tolkien's works, Forsaken Inn only appears in the The Two Towers (MUD) and The Lord of the Rings Online.
