The Disaster of the Gladden Fields is the first chapter of Part Three of Unfinished Tales.
It mainly concerns the life of Isildur after the fall of Sauron in the War of the Last Alliance, his decision to keep the One Ring, his eventual departure from Gondor to Arnor, the death of most of his company in the Gladden Fields, and the loss of the One Ring.
