The Childhood of Túrin is the first chapter of J.R.R. Tolkien's The Children of Húrin.

  • 1 - The Childhood of Túrin - This chapter tells of Húrin's early life and how he and his brother Huor were taken to Gondolin after a skirmish with Orcs. Eventually they returned home, and Húrin married Morwen, who soon bore him Túrin and Lalaith. Túrin grew, but was loved less than his sister. After Lalaith perished at a young age, Túrin, treated sternly by his mother, turned to his friend Sador for friendship. As Morgoth's power grew, Húrin at length set out to take part in the struggle against him, and fought in the Nirnaeth Arnoediad.
