After war After the war, Tareg and his people, along with Ermon and his folk (their mannish allied), move westward reaching the river Sirion in the northwest of the Great Lands.[1] There they seal they alliance with the exiled Gnomes led by Nólemë at a Feast of Reunion", and after that they fought together at Gorfalong in the Battle of Unnumbered Tears against Melko and his host of monsters and wicked Men.[1]
Behind the scenes[]
This character appears only in two of a handful of alternative outlines J.R.R. Tolkien wrote concerning the Awakening of Men and the exile Gnomes, which are excluded from the stories in The Silmarillion. Perhaps, Tareg was a precursor to the character of Thingol, while his ally Nólemë was the precursor to Finwë.
