Out of curiosity, was the King of the Dead different from the King that first made the oath to Isildur, it seems like a long gap of time between serving Sauron, discovering Gondor, and then breaking the Oath in the Last Alliance. Clearly either the King of the Dead is a numenorian by these standards (unlikely) or there were some generations of kings of the White Mountains before the oath was broken.
