Spelling
The name should be spelled "J. R. R. Tolkien", with the first names being separated by spaces (see J. R. R. Tolkien at Wikipedia). I'd like to move the article, but I can't, because there's already a redirect page with this name that has to be overwritten. Only an administrator can move the page along with its history. --Weas-El (Talk) 10:14, January 5, 2011 (UTC)
Why is this not a featured article? It's really good!

- JRR is just an abbreviation of his full name. The page should be moved to John Ronald Reuel Tolkien. Even if he is better known as JRR, full names should take priority over nicknames. Such nicknames should go into the other names section rather than the full name in the other names section. Tolkien is actually still very much indeed relevant today with the pandemic (Great plague of the early third age). Drour1234 (talk), January 23, 2022 (UTC)
TOLKIEN
This is a man of passion.Such imagination is priceless
Master
Tolkien is amazing, I read him books and i had goose-flesh. I love . He reminds me of Gandalf.
- Tolkien is very much indeed amazing. Far more praiseworthy than George R. R. Martin ripping off of Tolkien’s Silmarillion. It is uncanny how similar the fates of Tolkien’s Feanor and Martin’s Eddard are. Tolkien did the whole “kill off the protagonist” thing before Martin did so with his. Ever read “The Notion Club Papers,” from the history of middle earth? I have to say that it is the pinnacle of Tolkien’s genius intellect. Drour1234 (talk), January 23, 2022 (UTC)
Cottage name
Can you mention that it is Gypsy Green Cottage not just a cottage in Great Haywood in the discussion. Mariegriffiths (talk) 17:47, November 19, 2016 (UTC)
