Requested template change[]
Could someone with the ability to edit protected templates please change the timeline template - the section from F.A. 60 to 200? Someone said something about mortal lifespans, and then someone else corrected them, but it's completely wrong and unprofessional. :P --Jukka the Sling (talk) 03:12, May 23, 2015 (UTC)
Age length[]
What is the actual length of the First Age? In the introduction, the second paragraph says "It lasted about 3,000 Valian years, and each Valian year is the equivalent of 10 solar years.(making it the longest of the three Ages described by Tolkien), and ended with the final overthrow of Morgoth by the combined armies of Valinor and Beleriand." However, the War of Wrath ended in FA 587. This is quite a large discrepancy.

Age start[]
This article says, "The First Age began with the awakening of Men". But the articles for Years of the Trees and Years of the Sun seem to indicate that the First Age actually began 450 Valian Years earlier, with the awakening of Elves. It was the Years of the Sun that started with the awakening of Men, and that didn't happen until part way through the First Age. Therefore I'd suggest that this article should be changed, although I'll leave it up to someone else, since I'm not an expert on this. And maybe I'm getting it confused with the Elder Days, which are mentioned in this article's introduction. In that case, then I'd suggest that the other articles should be changed.
I'd also suggest we also adjust the dates on this website to say, for example, that the awakening of Men happened in YS 1 or FA 451 rather than FA 1. It looks like that was already discussed in the Terminology section of this webpage. Although once the problem was pointed out, I don't know why we didn't fix it on the rest of the webpage. The Terminology section says something about the term "Ages of the Sun" although I'm not sure what it means by that. - Endgame091834 (talk) 22:11, 1 May 2022 (UTC)
