I would argue that it is more like that Dáin II Ironfoot and his successors retained the title as subsidiary title possessed by the King of Durin's Folk. Much in the same way the His Royal Highness the prince of Wales is accorded the titles of Duke of Cornwall and Duke of Rothesay. NJZimmermann 23:36, July 13, 2010 (UTC)
