Spanish Elves?

I believe having the latin accent above the N in "Noldor" is incorrect; this would make it Nyoldor and I believe it's always been phonetically Noldor with a hard "n". --Mikda Fopal 23:57, 21 November 2006 (UTC)

No, It's meant to be pronounced like the end of king. "Ng"oldor. "Ñoldor"'s how Tolkien ultimately came to spell it, but it wasn't incorporated into The Silmarillion. See Wikipedia's Noldor [1] and Talk:Noldor pages [2] . 202.86.194.8
Yea I agree. Tolkien wrote it as "Noldor" without the accent. It seems rather academically dishonest to write it with the accent as it is written throughout the legendarium. The accent version should be mentioned in the etymo;ogy however but I believe we should go about changing all mentioned "Ñoldor" to "Noldor" throughout the wiki.Kulid456 (talk) 01:19, April 17, 2020 (UTC)

Maedhros was never king in any version of the legendarium that I am aware of. Some pressed a claim on his behalf, but he explicitly renounced it in favor of his uncle Fingolfin. There's a great deal of speculation in the High King section.

However, one question: the Statute of Finwe and Miriel says nothing that I can find about the spouse re-embodying. That is, I don't see how the article can claim that Finwe isn't allowed to re-embody simply because Miriel chose never to return. Miriel was given ample time to change her mind, but adamantly refused reincarnation, thus permitting Finwe to re-marry. As far as I can tell, there is nothing preventing Finwe from eventually coming back. 131.96.47.8 17:50, 30 July 2009 (UTC)

With all due respect, in view of the accompanying photo: Elrrond commanded the Sindarin during the battle. Not Noldor.

The page which states Gil-galad as being the son of orodreth is complete rubbish. It quite clearly says in the book he is the son of Fingon.

Noldor in Lindon?[]

Gil-Galad's kingdom was centered in Lindon. There had to be some Noldor living there. So Rivendell wasn't the only enclave of Noldor in 3A, some settlements in Lindon could still have them. 195.93.150.38 08:01, February 15, 2017 (UTC)
