Sub-creating Middle-earth: Constructions of Authorship and the Works of J.R.R. Tolkien is a book examining the occasional, in-universe authorship (referred to elsewhere by Michael D. C. Drout as Tolkien's "metafiction") seen within J.R.R. Tolkien's writings of Middle-earth. It was edited by Judith Klinger, and published in 2012 as the twenty-seventh book of the Cormarë Series.

Essays are given by Margaret Hiley, Martin Simonson, Patrick A. Brückner, Cécile Cristofari, and Dirk Vanderbeke with Allan Turner.
