Sméagol's grandmother was a Stoor-hobbit in the mid-Third Age.
History[]
Sméagol's grandmother was most likely the leader of the Stoor-country, which is where a group of Stoor-hobbits lived, and Sméagol and Déagol were part of. She likely had a good relationship with Sméagol; for he used to teach her how to suck eggs.[1] After Sméagol murdered Déagol over One Ring, he was happy with his possession of the Ring, and kept it a secret from the other Stoors. He used it to find out secrets, and put his knowledge to malicious purposes. The Stoors hated him, and he hated them in return. Then one day, his grandmother had enough of his ill behavior, and banished him. Hundreds of years later, when being interrogated by Gandalf, claimed that his grandmother had many things of such sort, and had given one to Sméagol for his birthday.[2]
