Shindrâm was the central fortress of Lithlad.
It is a non-canonical location that does not originate from the works of J.R.R. Tolkien, but from the video game Middle-earth: Shadow of War.
History[]
Shindrâm was built by the Númenóreans during the Second Age, when they ruled much of Middle-earth. It was, however, abandoned when the Númenóreans left Lithlad.
By the Third Age and the time of Sauron's return to Mordor, the fortress was controlled by Orcs. Sauron maintained a presence in Lithlad with its center at Shindrâm, though it was far from the strategic concerns of his empire. The fortress became poorly resourced, and its contingent of Orcs spent their days drinking and gambling. It was during this period that Baranor, former Captain of Minas Ithil, arrived in Lithlad and enlisted the help of his brother Serka and the Vanishing Sons in capturing Shindrâm.
