Sheila Chandra is a retired English pop singer who in c. 2000 sang the Sindarin verses in the soundtrack "Breath of Life" for Peter Jackson's The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers, a piece for which a singer with an exotic, Eastern tone was thought very suitable.[1]

Ten years later, she had burning mouth syndrome, and has no longer been able to sing.
