Prior to the Fall of Gondolin, Idril had a secret way made as an escape tunnel under the hidden city of Gondolin.[1]
History[]
After the birth of Eärendil in YS 503, Idril warned Tuor of a dream she had and soon had a secret way built and prepared.[2]
The secret way ran underneath the city from the house of Tuor and Idril to beyond its walls and proceeding northward of the Amon Gwared. In YS 510, the last survivors of the doomed city escaped its destruction through the secret way.[1][3][4]
