Sandyman also known as Sandyman the Miller or The Miller was a Hobbit of the Shire.

History

Sandyman was born sometime in the late Third Age. He became the owner of the Old Mill in Hobbiton sometime before TA 3001 (SR 1401). He was the father to Ted Sandyman. His fist name was never told in the story. He was always ready to pass on tall tales, he was an opinionated fellow, who was not well liked by Samwise Gamgee's father Hamfast Gamgee. He was present in the Ivy Bush drinking at table with The Gaffer and discussions happenings and rumors in the Shire, just before Bilbo's Farewell Birthday Party. It seems that he died sometime in the years before the War of the Ring, with his Mill being inherited by Ted, who sold it to Lotho Sackville-Baggins during his takeover of the Shire.
