Sandra Miesel, née Schwartz (born November 1941), is an American writer, literary critic, and Medieval scholar highly involved in science fiction/fantasy literature. She has contributed to many "fanzine" and Catholic periodicals in a variety of topics. She wrote The Da Vince Hoax: Exposing the Errors in The Da Vinci Code with Carl E. Olsen in 2004, for Ignatius Press.

Miesel has been occasionally involved in Tolkien scholarship. A few decades after the release of The Lord of the Rings, she authored the now-rare Myth, Symbol, and Religion in The Lord of the Rings in 1973. She wrote the article "The Universe According to Tolkien" for Crisis Magazine in 2003. More recently, she compiled with Paul E. Kerry Light Beyond All Shadow: Religous Experience in Tolkien's Works, of eleven essays by others.

She had received two Master's degrees from the University of Illinois, and now resides in Indiana.
