Located on this color-coded map of the Shire
Rushey was a small village built on hard[1] ground "among the fens of the Marish"[1] region of the Eastfarthing of the Shire between Stock and the Brandywine River. The farmers who lived between Rushey and Stock viewed the Master of Buckland as their authority over the Thain.[2]
According to The Atlas of Middle-earth, Rushey was about seven miles south of the Stockbrook river.[3]

Rushey is a word meaning "Rush-isle" or "a small island".[1]
