Rose A. Zimbardo, Ph. D. (born May 29, 1932 in New York City - died October 2015) was an American writer and Distinguished Professor Emeritus of English at Stony Brook University, New York.
A scholar on Shakespeare, the English Restoration period, and J.R.R. Tolkien, Zimbardo authored three compilations on Tolkien scholarship and criticism with Maryland professor Neil D. Isaacs from 1968 to 2004. Their first work, Tolkien and the Critics (1968), was a pioneer of "secondary literature" on J.R.R. Tolkien and the impact of his books.
