Robert DiNapoli is an American Medievalist, poet, and professor who has directed and appeared in documentaries on J.R.R. Tolkien. He specializes in Old and Middle English, and since 1987 has taught English literature at nine universities in Australia and England, in addition to publishing articles for Arena Magazine and scholarly journals and writing three books.
In 2001, DiNapoi was selected to be host and narrator of Cromwell Productions' J.R.R. Tolkien: Master of the Rings, directed by Stephen Grant. A year later, DiNapoli became a writer for Classic Rock Productions' Secrets of Middle-earth documentary series: Inside Tolkien's The Hobbit, Inside Tolkien's The Fellowship of the Ring, Inside Tolkien's The Two Towers, and Inside Tolkien's The Return of the King. He participated in two other documentaries about Arthurian legend and Beowulf, both by Cromwell Productions.
