Richard Whiteside (April 15, 1968 - August 11, 2015) was a New Zealand actor who played an uncredited Erebor Dwarf Guard in The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, Barney Butterbur in The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug, and a Lake-town Guard in The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies. Whiteside has also worked with Jackson in The Lovely Bones.
