Reiner Knizia (born 1957, Germany) is a German board game designer.
He designed the Lord of the Rings board game, which has been his best-selling game so far.
Reiner started developing games for Postspillion, a play-by-mail game Zine that he founded 1985. He started designing games full-time in 1997. He also holds a PhD in mathematics, and currently resides in England.

He was inducted into the Gaming Hall of Fame in 2002.
