Peggy Nesbitt is a Northern Irish actress who played a child of Dale in The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey and Sigrid, Bard the Bowman's elder daughter, in The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug.
Biography[]
The elder daughter of James Nesbitt, who plays the Dwarf Bofur, Peggy previously appeared with her father in the 2008 film Blessed, in which James plays a successful city trader who suddenly goes bankrupt and seeks solace on a remote island getaway.
Peggy and her younger sister, Mary, both moved to New Zealand when their father was cast as Bofur in The Hobbit film trilogy, a role that would require a year of continuous filming. Peggy and Mary were both initially resentful about having to live and attend school away from their normal home, but both were given the opportunity to audition for the films, and were surprised to win their roles.
Their mother, Sonia Forbes-Adam, likewise appears in the films as Belladonna (Took) Baggins (Bilbo Baggins' mother).
