Obel Halad, also called the Obel, Ephel Brandir, and the Ephel, was a fortified settlement that consisted of the dwellings of the Men of Brethil in Beleriand in Middle-earth.
It lay upon Amon Obel in the Forest of Brethil and was the sight of the Hall of the Haladin where the Chieftains of the House of Haleth dwelt.
In the late First Age, Túrin was taken to Obel Halad when he fell ill. At that time, it was ruled by Brandir son of Handir, the sixth Chieftain of the Haladin.[1]
Manthor, with Forhend and Húrin, came to Obel Halad from Haudh-en-Elleth to assist Húrin on his "errand" and bring him to Hardang Halad.[2]
