Nurwë was an Elf from Cuiviénen who refused the summons of the Valar.
When the three ambassadors of the Elves, Ingwë, Finwë, and Elwë, returned from Aman, they invited the other Elves to travel there. However, Nurwë and Morwë refused, thus leading the Avari left behind.[1]
Etymology[]
The Quenya term nur or nura means ("to separate") and -wë may have come from -wego which is frequent in masculine names.[2]
