Norman Forsey (born 1937), is a New Zealand actor who was raised in Wales. He had a minor role in Peter Jackson's The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring, where he played the role of Hamfast Gamgee (The Gaffer), father of Samwise Gamgee.
Life[]
Norman Forsey arrived in New Zealand in 1973, from Wales, where he had trained at the Welsh college of Music and Drama. He had also worked in theatre and also for B.B.C. Wales, as a Wardrobe Master.
His work in New Zealand has involved all aspects of his chosen profession, starting with two initial episodes of Hunter's Gold in 1977.
