Norman Forsey (born 1937), is a New Zealand actor, raised in Wales. He had a minor role in Peter Jackson's The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring, where he played the role of Hamfast Gamgee (The Gaffer), father of Samwise Gamgee.


Norman Forsey arrived in New Zealand in 1973, from Wales , where he had trained at the Welsh college of Music and Drama. He had also worked in theatre and also for B.B.C. Wales, as a Wardrobe Master.

His work in New Zealand has involved all aspects of his chosen profession, starting with two initial episodes of Hunter's Gold in 1977.
