Nils Ivar Agøy (born 1959) is a Norwegian scholar of J.R.R. Tolkien, history, and theology who co-founded of the Norwegian Tolkien Society, called Arthedain.
He has wrote articles on Tolkien's writings in miscellaneous collections of Tolkien scholarship, and authored a biography of Tolkien, Man of Myths: J.R.R. Tolkien and His Authorship (Mytenes mann: J.R.R. Tolkien og hans forfatterskap), published in 2003. He also had overseen the publication of proceedings from a 1997 Tolkien festival in Oslo, Between Faith and Fiction: Tolkien and the Powers of His World.
He resides in Bø i Telemark, Norway.
