Nicholas Hoult (b. December 7, 1989) is a British actor known for starring in Mad Max: Fury Road (2015), the romantic zombie comedy Warm Bodies (2013), Jack the Giant Slayer (2013), and the X-Men series (2011-2019). Since 2017, Hoult has starred mostly in dramas and independent pictures.
Hoult portrays a 24-year old J.R.R. Tolkien in Dome Karukoski's 2019 film Tolkien alongside Lily Collins. He was cast for the role around July 2017.[1] This marks Hoult's second time portraying an author during 20th century wartime, the first being his role of J.D. Salinger in Danny Strong's Rebel in the Rye (2017). Anthony Boyle,Tom Glynn-Carney, and Patrick Gibson co-star as Tolkien's three best friends who formed the Tea Club, Barrovian Society with him and fought in the First World War.
