Nerd of the Rings

A play on the title The Lord of the Rings

Nerd of the Rings is the foremost YouTube channel dedicated to J.R.R. Tolkien's Middle-earth legendarium. As of August 2024, it has over 1.1 million subscribers.

Run by Matt Graf, it offers extensive videos about the lore of characters and realms in Arda in a "Tolkien Explained" series, some videos on Middle-earth theories, and numerous interviews with significant persons such as actors, crew members of adaptations, Tolkien illustrators, and Tolkien scholars. Interviewees have included Ted Nasmith,^[1] Corey Olsen,^[2] Carl Hostetter,^[3] John Rhys-Davies^[4] (actor of Gimli in the films), Brian Sibley,^[5] Daniel Falconer^[6] and Richard Taylor^[7] of Wētā Workshop, and Mark Ordesky.^[8]
