Na'asiyah is a Corsair villain and later turned hero created by Fantasy Flight Games for The Lord of the Rings: The Card Game.
Biography[]
Na'asiyah is encountered in the The Grey Havens expansion; as an enemy during the Raid on the Grey Havens mission where the Corsairs attack and burn the city of the Grey Havens in search for the Black Key that Lord Calphon had found on the ruined Island of Númenor. Na'asiyah is later encounter during the The Thing in the Depths (Enemy then objective-ally), Temple of the Deceived (objective-ally), and The Drowned Ruins (objective-ally). Eventually she is betrayed by Captain Sahir, in the latter mission and has a change of heart after being in the compassionate company of the player's heroes. Players can get her as a playable hero in A Storm on Cobas Haven adventure pack.
In the game's lore it seems that Na'asiyah was of Gondorian origin. She was a street urchin as a child, (the fate of her parents are unknown) who stowaway on a Corsair ship that got sank in a battle against her home village. After the battle Captain Sahir's First Mate, named Rashad, rescued her from the shipwreck and brought her to Sahir. Sahir at first was disgusted about the fact of bring a child on board his flagship (and rather wished she be left for dead), but was persuaded by Rashad to let her live as Rashad's own daughter. Sahir allowed her to live, but under strict obedience and a hard life of servitude to him. Na'asiyah surprisingly showed no fear nor sorrow in joining the Corsairs, the loss of her home, and the harsh personality of Sahir. [1] Eventually she rose to great power and became Sahir's newest First Mate (the fate of Rashad is unknown).
Na'asiyah's armor is that of sailor clothes and leather which is common among the Corsairs of Umbar; good for living a life on the southern seas of Belegaer (Bay of Belfalas). Her only weapons shown is a falchion and four throwing daggers, which makes her pretty dangerous in close quarters combat.
Strategy[]
Be careful when fighting Na'asiyah as if you have many event cards in your hand (especially high cost cards) she can become very powerful in attack and defense. It it best to engage her if you have very little event cards in your hand.
The best way to defeat enemy Na'asiyah is to use ally Gandalf from the core set as his special ability can deal four damage; ignoring Na'asiyah's defense and instantly kill her.
Card usage[]
In the card game Na'asiyah, is largely associated with attacking and defending because of her ability to buff her attack or defense by 2 if the player controlling her spends a resource. Na'asiyah's willpower of 1 is pretty weak for her to be used for questing regularly. Her attack value of 2 (or 4) is good enough for her to be used as an attacker regularly, however, some enemies will take a few turns to die if Na'asiyah is attacking alone. Her defense of 2 (or 4) is good to use of her as a defender, unless she is fighting heavy attacking enemies with 6 or more attack.
