Nísimaldar was a wooded area surrounding the Númenórean coastal city of Eldalondë in the western part of the island.[1]
History
Nísimaldar was noted for its beautiful evergreen and fragrant trees that grew there which the Elves of Tol Eressëa brought out of the West (See: Plants of Númenor). It was also the only place that the golden tree malinornë as well as others of the Mallorn strain.
The place was a great treasure to both Men and Elves who took great delight in the many sweet smells that filled the air there.[2]
Etymology
The name Nísimaldar means "Fragrant trees", from the Quenya terms nísima ("fragrant") and alda ("tree").[2]
