Maximilian (or Max) Meinzold, born 1987, is a German illustrator who provided cover art for translations of J.R.R. Tolkien's The Hobbit and The Silmarillion, released in Germany by dtv Verlagsgesellschaft and Klett-Cotta respectively in 2012 and 2010. He has illustrated for many other modern fantasy and science fiction works, many of them young-adult literature.
