Maidros, or Golfinweg, was a Ñoldorin Elf in earlier versions of the legendarium.
Biography[]
Maidros was the father of Bruithwir (the precursor to Finwë) and grandfather of Fëanor.[1]
Other versions of the legendarium[]
J.R.R. Tolkien's accounts of this character went through several revisions. In fact, "Golfinweg" was reused as the name of Finwë, who was made the father of Fëanor; while the name Maidros was partially reused for the character of Maedhros, the first son of Fëanor. Furthermore, the father of Finwë remained unnamed.
