Magrot was an Orc-chief and commander of the Second Age who served Adar.
Biography[]
Magrot was among the highest-ranking servants of Adar in the Southlands, being his second in command. Magrot, overseeing the enslavement of many Men and putting them to work at the trenches in the pursuit of finding a mysterious Hilt.
After Arondir and other Silvan Elves were captured and made to work at digging a trench, and eventually refused to cut down a great tree that stood in the way, Magrot feigned magnanimity by offering the Elves water, only to kill Médhor by cutting his neck open. This incited the Elves to revolt, and though the rebellion was put down, Magrot suffered a grievous wound to the neck when Arondir stabbed him with a root fragment. As he lay dying, Adar himself came and gently tended to him, before swiftly ending his suffering with a dagger thrust.
