Longbottom was a location in the Southfarthing of the Shire.
Description[]
A name meaning "long valley", it was founded by Tobold Hornblower with the introduction of pipe-weed, in TA 2670, allowing the region to become well established due to the success of the pipe-weed industry.[1]
The valley's name also referred to the most popular pipe-weed in the Shire, Longbottom Leaf, and also a favorite of Saruman.[2]
