Letter 95 is the ninty-fifth letter written by J.R.R. Tolkien and published in The Letters of J.R.R. Tolkien.

Summary[]

Tolkien enthused about perusing Stenton's Anglo-Saxon England. A period loaded with Question Marks, said Tolkien, and wished he had a time-machine. Obviously, he said, with a brain completely not quite the same as Stenton's he was pulled in to things of racial and phonetic importance. Tolkien trusted his child could one day dive into the tale of the sources of their impossible to miss individuals. To be sure of them specifically; notwithstanding the "Tolkien" (now a slight strand) he said that Christopher was a Mercian or Hwiccian on both sides.
