Letter 348 is the three hundred and forty-eighth letter written by J.R.R. Tolkien and published in The Letters of J.R.R. Tolkien.

Tolkien composes Mrs. Catharine Findlay that the name Galadriel signifies "Lady delegated with shining hair" in Sindarin, and that it was her auxiliary name. In her childhood, she was of amazon demeanor, and bound up her hair as a crown when joining in athletic deeds.
