Letter 114 is the one hundred and fourteenth letter written by J.R.R. Tolkien and published in The Letters of J.R.R. Tolkien.

Hugh Brogan, then a schoolboy, wrote to Tolkien about how he enjoyed The Hobbit. Tolkien thanked Brogan and discussed his other work, Farmer Giles of Ham. He wrote that what Brogan needed was The Silmarillion, which focused on the history of the Eldalië to the War of the Last Alliance.
