Lanwyn is a Dale hero created by Fantasy Flight Games for The Lord of the Rings: The Card Game. Players can get her as a playable hero in The Thing in the Depths adventure pack.
Biography[]
Lanwyn's armor is only that of leather and cloth, which is helpful against the elements and light attacks, but not very durable against heavy attackers. She has a tamed hawk named Gavin as a pet which she uses for scouting and attacking enemies. Her only weapon shown is a dagger, however, as shown in community artwork she appears with a bow; which would explain why she has a ranged attack. She is apparently a cartographer in service to the Magistrate of Dale; mapping out lands east of the River Running [1]
Card usage[]
In the card game, Lanwyn is very good when it comes to questing and attacking. Her best use is to quest with her, especially in missions that have a high amount of encounter cards with the surge keyword. Lanwyn's willpower of 2 is good for her to be used for questing regularly and pair with her special ability can have up to 6 willpower at once. Her attack value of 3 is strong enough for her to be used as an attacker regularly, however, some enemies will take a couple turns die if Lanwyn is attacking alone. Lanwyn's defense of 1 is pretty weak to use her as a defender and her health of 3 does not last very long, and not many enemies have an attack value of 2 or less.
